2013 saw significant changes to the Shelby GT500, with a complete exterior and interior redesign, an increase in displacement from 5.4L to 5.8L, a larger oil pump, an aluminum sump, piston oil squirters, and additional coolant passages, and an Eaton supercharger pumping on 14psi which is good for a whopping 662bhp! The improvements don't stop there, but are carried through the entire car, including a strengthened Tremec 6-speed gearbox with internal cooling, a larger diameter clutch to handle the 631lb-ft of torque, and a single-piece carbon fiber driveshaft. New wheels, suspension improvements, and large Brembo brakes with 6-piston front calipers are a few more of the many improvements made. The optional Performance Package adds adjustable dampers and a Torsen limited-slip rear differential. Ordering the Performance Package allows a buyer to select the Track Package, which includes a transmission cooler, a nose-mounted differential cooler for the Torsen limited-slip unit, and an air-to-oil engine-oil cooler.
This particular car was purchased new from Mullinax Ford in now-famous-for-Mecum-auctions Kissimmee, Florida, and serviced there as well. The second owner purchased it in April of 2017 and added it to his extensive exotic car collection. He is a long time friend and client of the team at Switchcars, and he reached out to us when it was time to thin the herd (maybe to make room for his incoming Ford GT, maybe not), and we of course purchased the car to offer it for sale.
This car is in absolutely perfect condition, with a clean Carfax, all original paint, flawless interior. The original owner had the first annual service done at 2208 miles in 2014 at Mullinax Ford. The second owner had the oil and filter changed at Porsche of Ocala when he purchased the car in 2017 at 3788 miles. We just installed a brand new front plastic spoiler as the original one had some scuff marks. The front valence is protected from stone chips with a clearbra.
