The Porsche 997.1 GT2 is, in our opinion, one of the stronger values available in the modern collector car market. The 2008-09 GT2 was only offered in a limited run of 237 cars built. In 2009 Porsche did a refresh on its 911 Carrera, but the Turbo and GT2 were continued in a very small batch that included an upgrade to its onboard technology. There were only 25 North American GT2s produced (17 coming to the United States and 8 entering Canada).
The Porsche GT2 historically is offered toward the end of each 911 generation as the king of the castle. With its 2WD configuration and track intended suspension and chassis, Porsche built this model to raise the performance bar at tracks around the world.
This is the last Porsche GT car built that offered the Mezger engine in its 3.6L configuration. The GT2's aggressive looks and rich pedigree ensures a great addition to any enthusiast/collector's garage.
This particular example is dressed in its original black paint as verified with a paintmeter and presents extremely well. There is no evidence that this car has seen a track in it lifetime. The DME readout is very good and consistent with what we've seen on low mile, pampered Turbo cars. It is in excellent condition inside and out with no appreciable wear. The car recently had a complete major service performed including all fluids, belts, filters, and spark plugs, new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires installed, a new battery, and it also had a new OEM lip spoiler installed.
