1992 Porsche 911 Carrera RS now available with 112,100 kilometers (69,659 miles).
Finished in its original color of Polar Silver Metallic (92E) over a black and gray leather interior with sport bucket seats, this 964-generation Carrera RS is a German market-delivered lightweight or "basic" example, and one of just 1,910 such cars produced out of the 2,276 total Carrera RS built. Power comes from a rebuilt air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six featuring upgraded camshafts, paired with a close-ratio G50 five-speed manual transmission. An aftermarket exhaust and lightened flywheel round out the mechanical package.
This example benefits from a restoration completed to a high standard. The engine rebuild and cam upgrade were performed in June of 2002. The ownership history is well documented, tracing from its original German owner in Lörrach, through a second owner in Freiburg, to a subsequent owner in Santillana del Mar, Spain, before being acquired by a serious Porsche collector in 2023 and imported to the US. Since then it has been kept in climate-controlled storage and used sparingly.
The restoration presents in great condition throughout, and the driving impression is exceptional. The bigger cams and aftermarket exhaust produce a visceral, mechanical soundtrack, while the car feels tight and responsive through the gears in a way that reflects the quality of the mechanical work performed.
