1971 Porsche 914-6 now available! Long term ownership with good service history. The
car was restored in the late 80’s through the early 90’s by the father of the current
owner. The car is powered by a 2.2L flat-six engine paired with a 5-speed manual
transmission. Both the engine and transmission were rebuilt in 1992 by Steinels
Autowerks to 911 E specifications - the engine was rebuilt with 2.2L piston and cylinder sets and the heads
were rebuilt. 901 profile camshafts were used. Weber 40 IDA carburetors were also
added at the same time. Receipts for the rebuild are available.
This 914-6 was originally finished in Yellow but was repainted black during the
restoration. The car has been serviced at Steinels ever since the rebuild in 1992. The
last service was on 7/12/2022 with 62,677 miles. The current mileage on the car is
62,740. The restoration took place around 59k miles.
The exterior paint is in good shape. There is a minor rust bubble near the passenger
headlight. Underside pictures are available upon request. The interior is in very nice
condition as well. The car runs and drives beautifully. This is a solid 914-6 that would make a
great driver and a nice addition to the collection.
