Finished in Strawberry Red over Black leather, this Reutter-bodied 356 Pre-A Cabriolet was produced on February 2, 1953, for U.S. distribution through Hoffman Motor Car Company in New York. Power comes from a replacement 1.6-liter flat-four sourced from a 356B, paired with a four-speed manual transaxle sending power to the rear wheels.
Chassis 60013 was acquired by its longtime Ohio owner in 1965 and underwent a restoration in the 1990s, during which the body was stripped to bare metal, refinished in its original Strawberry Red, and fitted with the rebuilt replacement engine. The interior was reupholstered in black leather in the late 2000s, at which time the gray convertible top was also refurbished. A matching top boot is included.
Recent service completed in preparation for the sale included overhauling the twin Zenith carburetors, rebuilding the fuel pump, refurbishing the fuel tank, cleaning the fuel lines, and adjusting the hydraulic drum brakes with replacement rear hoses in 2025. A paint correction was also performed in February 2026.
Additional details include body-color 16” steel wheels with baby moon hubcaps wrapped in Firestone Deluxe Champion tires, Koni Classic shocks, green-letter Veigel instrumentation, and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirming its original colors and production completion date.
Included in the sale are the disassembled factory engine, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, restoration photos, service records, and matching top boot.
