This 1997 Ferrari 550 was delivered new via Ferrari Suisse on February 13, 1997. Finished in classic Rosso Corsa red with a front engined V12, one might say given the delivery date the someone picked up a dozen red roses for their loved one on Valentine’s Day.
This classicly-styled Pininfarina design pays homage to the Ferrari Daytona and early 250-bodied Ferraris, and definitely rivals them for sheer aesthetic beauty. The exterior paint appears to be all original with no significant blemishes and with a smooth shine. Scuderia Ferrari raised decals have been added to the fenders to mimic the factory-optioned “Scuderia Shields” which became popular in the early 2000s. They are easily removable should the buyer prefer.
The interior is finished in black leather, which according to our sources is quite rare on a Rosso exterior car as most were upholstered in Beige. The leather is in excellent condition with no noticeable wear, and the interior switches, buttons, and HVAC panel have all been refinished with a harder coating that does not become tacky over time like the factory soft-touch coating. All interior switches and accessories function properly.
The car is in excellent mechanical condition, having been regularly serviced as confirmed by the multiple and consistent stamps in the factory service booklet, and it received a major service at Rebellion Motors in July of 2021 which totaled approximately $12,000, for which the receipt is on file. The wheels are in excellent condition and are wrapped in Pirelli P-zero tires with full tread and recent 2019 date codes.
Other services stamped in the factory booklet are dated 2000, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2021, with just 300 kms being added to the car since the most recent service.
This is a fantastic European-specification 550 that has recently been brought over to the USA via the 25-year exemption, so no modifications for federalization were required – this is a stock, unmodified European-market 550 Maranello.
The car comes with the following accessories: Two keys (non-OEM copies) with two factory fobs, one red and one black. Factory Tool Kit with leather case. All books and manuals in factory leather pouch including the fully-stamped service booklet, warranty booklet, Becker manual, and the Becker radio code card. Factory fix-a-flat kit. Factory hazard reflector (European spec cars only – US cars did not get this)
It has a clean and clear title in Ohio and is ready for the new owner to enjoy.
